Re: Vista Update Installs Over and Over

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Since you haven't provided the specific update that is continually being reoffered, here's a guess as to which one it is:

An update is available that improves the compatibility and the reliability of Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 on a Windows Vista-based computer
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941833

If that's the one, then click the link for the " Known issues with this update " heading and follow what is laid out.
If it's not the update, then please post which one it is.
After all, no one here can read minds ... yet. <w>

I posted this a few days ago but didn't receive any replies, so thought I'd try again.

Vista keeps reinstalling the same update over and over. My update list shows that it has been installed six times, but it still pops up again. This is so annoying that I've turned automatic updates off. I'll be this is a registry issue but don't know exactly what. Any ideas? Thanks.
