Are you running Win2000 and is the machine otherwise fully patched at Windows Update?

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately it has not resolved the
problem. I can connect to Windows Update and get a list of required
updates. I can even download and install all of the updates that have
been listed except for 816093 which gives the error as described.

I am not running Norton's Internet Security firewall and I have added the
relevant sites to my trusted sites list within my IE settigs but this has
had no effect. I can not make the site a proxy exception but the proxy
appears to be handling the site just fine for all other updates.

I am still looking for a solution to this problem or a manual download of
the patch.

You receive an "Error 0x80072EE2" or "Error 0x80072EFD" error message
when you try to use Windows Update

If you have Norton Internet Security or something similar installed you
might need to reconfigure or disable it.

When using Windows Update to attempt to install the MS Virtual Machine
update (816093) on Windows XP SP2 I consistently get the following
error: 80072EFD. All other online updates have installed successfully.
How can I resolve this problem? Can I download this update manually?
