Re: Microsoft Windows Updates are failing again....did this before but

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Tip: Temporarily disable real-time protection by your anti-virus and/or anti-spyware applications (e.g., CounterSpy, Spysweeper, Spybot Tea Timer, AVG Anti-Spyware) and/or any third-party firewall (e.g., ZA) before attempting to install the update(s). If you disable the third-party firewall, make certain that you enable the Windows Firewall!

I am running Windows Media Edition (please refer to my profile for computer

is not configured right, or I've done something (not impossible) wrong, but
whatever the case, I am receiving error codes galore and there are like 30
"failed" updates already in my update history file. Please help asap! One
of the error codes I am receiving is 0x80242006 (?) I looked all over for
that code and could not find any answers, so that's why I am HERE! ASKING
YOU! I appreciate your time and consideration in this matter and it is
greatly appreciated!
