Re: Error number: 0x80072EFD

Windows version?

If you have an "internet accelerator" installed, uninstall it.

Otherwise, see this KB article, which includes Guided Help:

You may receive an "Error 0x80072EE2," "Error 0x80072EE7," "Error
0x80072EFD," "Error 0x80072F76," or "Error 0x80072F78" error message when
you try to use the Windows Update Web site or the Microsoft Update Web site:

Tip: Temporarily disable real-time protection by your anti-virus and/or anti-spyware applications (e.g., CounterSpy, Spysweeper, Spybot Tea Timer, AVG Anti-Spyware) and/or any third-party firewall (e.g., ZA) before attempting to install the update(s). If you disable the third-party firewall, make certain that you enable the Windows Firewall!

I am so frustrated. I have been trying to fix this thing for weeks now.
Everything I try isn't working. I've tried what the error says I should
do...nothing. I have this yellow shield pop ups and disappears almost as
quickly and does nothing. I've tried manually installing updates...nothing.

Why is windows update not working?
