RE: status bar doesn't move!!

Thanks for the info. I did all you'd recommended and I still can't see the
scroll bar running. The BI and the WU services are both started. The only
difference I see now is that I get the yellow exclamation mark as if windows
wants to download the updates, but it stays at 0% :-(
What now?

Suggest cleaning up the system (clearing out all the Temp/Tmp folders, and
included all offline content, clearing the browser TIF, Delete Cookies , do a
Disk CleanUp.

Click the Start button . In the Search box, type Disk Cleanup, and then, in
the list of results, click Disk Cleanup.


Empty user and system "temp" folders.

Go to Start > Run > copy and paste the below into the Open: line

%systemdrive%\temp


%systemdrive%\%windir%\temp


%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Temp



Run Dial-ª-Fix


Exit Safe Mode (Rebººt)


Try the updates n0w
