Re: How do i uninstall windows HOT fix KB891781

Is this what is occurring with HomeSite ?

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896180/
SYMPTOMS
After you install security update 891781, when you try to run a program that uses the dynamic HTML (DHTML) editing component ActiveX control on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer or on a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, you may receive the following error message:

This problem occurs because security update 891781 makes changes to both the safe version and the unsafe version of the DHTML editing component ActiveX control.
Windows XP

This is a brand new Dell. I just got it a couple of days ago. I haven't removed anything. I barely got all the programs I use installed. However, there's a default setting for automatic updates and it downloaded this 'fix' before I had a chance to turn automatic updates off and set up Custom updates at the web site.

HOT fix KB891781 is screwing up my html editor (Homesite 4.5.2). I
understand the risks of removing this, but I want it GONE. I did a
search on my pc and couldn't find it. I know how to remove it in
Windows XP, but I couldn't find the uninstall file. I couldn't
find it in the Control Panel either.

You likely removed the log files/uninstall information.
Download the update and use the /uninstall command line...
