Update...........
As Security Centre appears to be erroneously reporting Panda IS 2008 (Beta)
up and running when it is no longer installed, I've stopped the security
centre service and when run update again this time it works. i.e states that
there ure updates to install. Currenly downloading (21.7MB) but very slow -
I've a 4Mbps cable connection and normally download around the 475MBps range.
Certainly nowhere near this (1% every 4 to 5mins ??) Something still wrong.
Can Security centre be repaired or removed and reinstalled ?
Are you certain it was wrong about Panda? It wouldn't be the first time
a third-party security package uninstaller failed to do its job completely...

When attempting to run Windows Update on my Vista PC test bed, I end up with
error 800b0100 (when trying to download an update to the windows update
software). I've performed some suggested solutions on this forum but to no
avail.
I've checked installed updates, found those that are missing and tried to
download. Tried is the operative word. On the Vista machine (P4 3.2 GHz and
2GB RAM), download appaliingly slow. Reverted to another machine (P3 733Mhz
512RAM) running XP and download no problem to removable disc.
Updated Vista machine with missing updates.
Running Updates again, as before, keep getting asked to download and install
an update to windows update. Now, with all updates installed I get error
80072ee2 (reason for slow download ??). Research points to perhaps a
firewall problem but here's the rub...........Windows firewall is disabled as
I'd tested Panda IInternet Secuiry 2008 Beta. This is now longer installed -
No AV or Firewall running on test bed - but Security Centre says it's up and
running (!!!???). I can'y uninstall (it's not there) and I've removed all
traces of Panda (other than Legacy) from registry. Security Centre still
reports it running (!?)
This erroneous report may be cause of problems but I'm at a lose of what to
do now. Any bright sparks out there that could point me in right direction
????
