Outlook Express
1. Check the path to msimn.exe
2. Go to Start | Run and type the following:
"C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /reg
If the path to the file is different, then type the path to the msimm.exe file
3. Open IE, go to Tools | Internet Options | Programs, set OE as the default mail (and
news) program.
If that hasn't helped - then post to the OE Newsgroup

| I normally use Outlook Express 6 but for a while I used Microsoft outlook as
| part of Office 2007 beta. I uninstalled it at the end of the trial. a few
| weeks ago my Netgear broardband Modem/router failed and since being sent a
| replacement I have had a few problems which started with microsoft update
| failures which I have listed at the end. Now my computer, during startup or
| straight afterwards comes up with an intaller window & then gives me the
| following message:
|
| "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot
| fulfuill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set
| it as the default mail client" I don't use it and as far as I know Outlook
| express is set as my default, but I could be wrong.
|
| Outlook express is now also comming up with an installer window everytime I
| send a message before it will be sent. I have used my works 7 cd to repair
| any corruption but it still happens. I can only assume there is some link
| between the update fauts & my office 2007 trial.
|
| I use Windows XP Media Center Edition
|
| These are the updates that are now also failing and were the 1st sign of
| problems?
