RE: Latest 9 updates Failed 0x80246008

I attempted to install the BITS update and as I was told already it would not
allow the install.
Here is the report:
KB842773
SETUP HAS DETECTED THAT THE SERVICE PACK VERSION OF THIS SYSTEM IS NEWER
THEN THE UPDATE YOU ARE APPLYING.
THERE IS NO NEED TO UPDATE.

So I`m back to square one ! I have done absolutely nothing to this pc to
have created this problem. I havent installed any new apps or uninstalled any
either since the last time I was able to run windows updates successfully.

And yes I have checked my history update and the only one of these latest
KB`s offered is the same malicious tool removal that Microsoft wants the user
to run each month.

And yes I have tried changing the BITS service to automatic and it still
will not start and continues to give the Error 126 I already mentioned.
Unless I have been told wrong the user cannot re-install BITS in the pc if
the user is already running or has upgraded to SP2 as I have. The upgraded
version of BITS is already incorporated in SP2. Engel I have already
previously thru research viewed the link you attached but havent tried the
remedys as of yet.

I am running XP Home upgraded to SP2 over two years ago and this is the
first time I have encountered this error 126 problem.

The d\l looks like it never starts so after 10 minutes even on bradband I
