Re: Windows Update - "Restart Now or Restart Later"

The restart now or restart later message only comes up once the updates have
already been downloaded. When you click start > shut down, the message
saying that the updates are installing and computer will shut down when
complete only refers to updates that you have not chosen to install yet. If
there are updates available on the automatic updates gold shield and you
don't choose to install them at that point, the message will appear just
like before and won't be bothered by the "restart now or restart later"
message anymore :-)
Best of luck

Hard drive failed. Installed new hard drive. Now when updates are ready
to
install, "gold shield" in task bar says updates are ready to install,
click
here. Then, if computer needs to restart, window pops up with restart now
or
restart later. Prior to installing hew hard drive, never saw this. If
computer needed to restart to install updates, when I clicked start, turn
off
computer, I was advised that updates were installing and computer would
turn
off when complete. How do I get this feature back?
