I have a computer that receives Error 0x80072EE7 when trying to access
windowsupdate.
I just reformatted the drive, installed Windows 2000 SP3, IE 6, and
Java.
Nothing else.
I have another computer plugged into the same switch which can use
windowsupdate just fine.
Another clue: the same computer that can't get windowsupdate to work
also cannot log into hotmail or other pages that use javascript to
redirect. The other computer has no problems with those either.
I followed KB836941. I don't have a personal firewall installed, no
accelerator program. Nothing in Hosts file. I added the various lines
to the trusted sites tab.
I followed KB842773 and installed the update for BITS 2.0 and WinHttp
5.1
Ideas?
.
