I have seen all the FAQS for this problem on windows update and none
of them have worked. Namely when I try to run the Command Prompt net
stop wuauserv method, I am told, 'System Error 5- Access is Denied.'
I am the only account on my laptop and have complete administrative
control. What is the deal? Is there any way to reinstall windows
update? (I have Vista by the way)

Because you have Vista, you must launch the cmd.exe command prompt window
with elevated Administrator privileges before typing any of the commands
into the command prompt window. Just being an Administrator is not enough.
