DOH!!!!!!!!!! and so on in a never ending loop.

Now I was a programmer before I was deemed to be too OLD, too UNEDUCATED,
too OUT OF DATE or whatever but I can see something in this loop which to my
mind can be sorted out... The “problem” and the “fix” are both in this loop
sequence... obviously (in the mind of this OLD, UNEDUCATED, OUT OF DATE ex
programmer ) the “fix” isn't doing it's job! Fix it?

Still doesn't work. I still got to the same message. Any other ideas?

Some have reported that simply re-registering the MSXML3.DLL seems to fix the
problem.
1. Click Start.
2. Choose Run.
3. In the Run box, type: regsvr32 MSXML3.DLL
Press okay

If that hasn't helped you may need to re-registered some more files:

1. Click Start.
2. Choose Run.
3. In the Run box, type (pressing okay after each one) :-

net stop wuauserv

Repeat for the following:
regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll
regsvr32 MSXML3.dll
regsvr32 qmgr.dll
regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll

net start wuauserv

Try manually going to the WU site again after a reboot.

These are the 2 options if i chose one it download the files and register
but it still doesnt work and the same error message appear just like a loop
keeps repeating itself.

Second option just doesnt help at all.... No details given no error msg was
shown etc...

Problem started when:
I have a brand new Dell Precision 690 Workstation. It was running fun for
about 1 month and yesterday after running some update, I received a message
to restart my computer. I've finished working, so I turn off my computer
instead.

This morning I turn on my computer and doesn't even want to boot up to
windows. I have to shut down couple times, tried different ways such as refer
back to last best work windows and no luck. Running in safe mode and do disk
defrag, it was so darn slow.

Anyway, I ended up repairing Windows XP Pro from the CD. My computer seems
working as normal and I can do many things except updating windows.

I have done all the other websites suggested about updating the dll files,
even going to services.msc, still getting the same error.

Please help me here....
