You may have a horked install of IE7. I suggest that you...
1. Uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6) per http://www.ie-vista.com/kbase2.html
2. Uninstall all toolbars and any third-party Windows Themes (including Window Blinds);
3. Reinstall IE7 per http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html#pre-install, and using http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/default.mspx as the installation source, not Automatic/Windows Update.

Has anyone else noticed ie6 or ie7 browsers trying to load multiple tabs or
windows to google when you type a URL into the address bar, but all you get
is a blank page instead of reaching the website you are looking for?
Since the latest update, the ie browsers will not go to the URL, but instead
show that they are trying to access google to search for the requested
website. My tabs will flicker rapidly like the search is trying to open a
window for each possible result instead of just going to the google search
page. MY browser option is set to go directly to the URL requested and not
to show any other search results
If microsoft wants to make a deal with google, that's fine, but forcine my
browser to go to google first, instead of just going to the website I want
is BS!!! Especially when the program they built to reidrect to google is
not working anyway.
When I want to use a google search, I will type in the URL for the google
website, I don't need anyone directing me there.
