I changed the subject of your query to reflect the real issue with your system.
Your current problem is probably due to a recent Windows update that must be
uninstalled and/or updated. If you peruse the messages in this newsgroup, you'll
find many scenarios, most of which are hit and miss.
If you happen to be running Windows XP SP2 with IE7, I have a simple solution
for you.
First, disable automatic updates.
Next, download, install and run the IE7 Blocker kit. Use the command prompt
method.
Then, uninstall IE7 using the Add/Remove Programs tool.
IE6 will automatically be reinstalled. Your problem should disappear.
Enable automatic updates again.
Others may offer alternate solutions, but I found this to be the easiest and
most effective for myself and a few friends and neighbors.

I was never impressed with IE7 anyway, so I think I'll just stick with IE6 for
now.

HI,
I'm trying to upload an updated pdf file to a yahoo group that I belong to.
I have uploaded this file on a monthly basis for over two years. Now for
some reason the upload fails. I have not made any changes to my system.
Here is the error message I got -
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.
What you can try:
Diagnose Connection Problems
When I run 'Diagnose Connection Problems', I get this message -
'Windows did not detect any problems with your internet connection
over HTTP and HTTPS, but was unable to make a successful connection
over FTP. The most likely cause of this problem is that a firewall
client running on your machine is blocking the necessary FTP ports'.
I have disabled the windows firewall. Never had this problem
before. What could be causing it?
