1. Microsoft Update **was** working but is not anymore.
2. I don't think Windows Update works either. It was just reminding me to upgrade to MU.

If Microsoft Update is installed, you need to look to disable since it is not as visible.
Some do not want Microsoft Update and they would resent Microsoft forcing that change if it were automatic.
When updates came out as available, many complained since at times, they were always updating which had a significant impact on their production.
For most businesses, the scheduled 2nd Tuesday was exactly what they had asked for a long time.
This greatly simplifies their scheduling.
Microsoft can and does on occasion post an update out of cycle if conditions warrant.
