As a follow-up to the problem of being able to control the options of
Automatic Updates . . . After removing the Policies section in the registry
as suggested above, I was able to switch off automatic updates. However,
Norton AntiVirus 2006 detects this and gives a warning on bootup. If NAV is
allowed the "fix" the problem, it turns Automatic Updates back on. However,
the Automatic Updates are not greyed out, and other options can still be
selected. Maybe, and this is just conjecture, on the initial installation,
NAV installs the policy which I had in the registry.

Are you logging out the first user before the second one should
log in or are you using Fast User Switch?

Are these user accounts password protected or not?
