RE: Update Windows XP Home SP2

I have tried many times unsucessfully to install the Microsoft SQL Server
2005 Express Edition Service Pack 2 (KB 921896). I get no error message, but
when I went to the Microsoft Update Page for the Automatic Updates This is
the info about this file:
Download size: 0 KB , 0 minutes (Downloaded; ready to install)
This service pack upgrades all Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition
instances and components to Service Pack 2 (SP2). If you need additional
installation options, you should download this service pack at the Microsoft
Download Center. For more information, see Microsoft Knowledge Base article
921896.
After that, there is a 'details' link..that does NOTHING!
Could it be that we are trying to install a file that is ZERO Bytes?

I followed the steps "Seth" wrote. I found my SQL server was stopped, but
when I told it to start, it gave me :
"The reqiest failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion.
Consult the event log or other applicable error logs for details."
Here, I discovered that the event log has an error message for 7/26/07!
My System Clock currently says is is 4/16/07. So, how do I have an event
for JULY?
Is this planned errors? (Just kidding!) I

I did notice 3 errors (event 17104 - 17103 - 17101) for MSSQL$MSSMBIZ
I have NO CLUE what is happening.
Knock on wood, (knock, knock, knock) my computer 'seems' e running fine
except for this bothersome Microsoft SQL Server 2005 error problem.

How to:
Right-click on "My COmputer", select "Manage".
In the Computer Management panel, on the bottom left is the "Services and
Applications". You may have to expand the tree (+) to see an item called
"Services". Highlight "Services".
You should now see all services on the right hand side.
Scroll down until you see the SQL stuff. The SQL Express services is listed
as "SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS)". Double-click this service and you should get
an options box.
I can't remember the exact sequence of how I started it again, but I think
mine said "Disabled" in the Startup Type and I had to change it to Manual.
Then I pressed the "Start" button to start up the service. Once the service
was started, I was able to change the Startup type to "Automatic". I don't
remember if you have to restart PC after or not.
Hope that helps.

How do you enable the SQL? Mine looks to be "Stopped" by I really no sure
what it means.

I think I've solved it for myself - the SQL Express Service was disabled for
some reason. Enabling and starting the service seems to have fixed the
problem.
