Re: Error installing (KB 921896) - exit code 1627

In the C:\Program Files\MicrosoftSQLServer\90\Setup
Bootstrap\LOG\Hotfix\SQL9Express_Hotfix_KB921896_SQLEXPR.EXE folder there
should be a log file with "SQL" in name. Open up this file and search for "ue
3" or 1627 and copy and paste into the forums the 20 lines above and below.

I'm having the exact same problem (same error code and description).
I've tried installing it several times, and get the same error every
time. Running Vista Business.
