Re: Errror Code 8000FFFF When installing Update KB929777

Hi Jim
I am having same problem with the 8000FFF error and don't have a soolution.
On the issue of memory, I just upgraded my Dell XPS M2010 to 4GB from 1GB.
Initially I was concerned that I too was being short shifted as my system
told me I have 3326 GB after install.
If you re-boot and F12 it and go into thhe dell diagnostics it will chheck
it's memory and in my case it came back with 4096GB.
The system will ttell you that while you have the full complement of memory
- some is taken up by system resources.
Hope it helps
Dave

I've experienced the same error and had tried the same methods to correct.

Running Vista Ultimate w/ 4GB RAM, but only 3.25 GB is recognized.
Dell Latitude D820.

The symptoms outlined below are correct for my situation other than
Stop Errors - not sure if that was encoutered during intial install.

Ken,

Did/is the system experience(ing) any issues with installing Vista ?
If not, then this update is NOT needed :
