For downloading IE7, Defender, WMP11 and the other updates which
require a Windows Genuine verfication it's absolutly enough to
install the Windows Genuine Advantage *Verification Tool* aka KB892130.
The Windows Genuine Advantage Notification (aka KB905474) is *not*
required to be installed. Nor for the WGA check, either in any other
means. It has ever been and still is an optional update - although MS
decided to push KB905474 as an important update via the update channels
(WU/MU/AU).
