Re: malicious software removal tool

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

My mrt.log does indeed show the same as below but I'm wondering why, since
the huge file that I downloaded (12.2 MB) had the filename
Windows-KB890830-V1.26.exe - odd.

In case it's of any interest, the downloaded file contained (as well as
mrt.exe and mrtstub.exe):

windows-kb890830-v1.26-delta.exe 07/02/2007 2:18 PM
windows-kb890830-v1.26.exe 07/02/2007 2:18 PM
windows-kb890830-v1.26-deltavista.exe 07/02/2007 2:18 PM

Hi:

I have just installed the latest mammoth batch of security updates (about
11 or 12 in all). The monthly "Malicious Software Removal Tool" to be
installed with this batch is apparently titled "December 2006." That's
strange, since it's now February 2007. Anyone else notice this, or know
anything about this? Any feedback or thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.
