Re: Error code 8007000B when trying to install updates

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I have a machine which is acting identical to what you are describing. Very
frustrating.. I have since pulled the drive out of my system, and am playing
with 64 bit until a solution is found.

I have exactly the same problem with Vista Ultimate. It installed updates
perfectly until those released 29th January. It will happily install Defender
and driver updates, but will fail with all other updates, giving the same
0x8007000B error that you describe.

Reading through the WindowsUpdate.log I think it looks like it can't
download these updates...

I've tried deleting SoftwareDistribution and reinstalling Windows Update,
and I've also tried it with and without a firewall, and with and without
Microsoft Update. I'm not using a proxy server (and another Vista build on
the same network works perfectly...).
