Michael: I called Belkin again and they repeated their answer. The card is
working; you have a configuration problem with your computer and need a
microsoft tech to solve it. I suggested I return the Belkin card for another
brand; to which he replied that no brand of card will work as long as the
configuration is unchanged. I gave up on that computer, a Sony with MCE
(Media Center Edition) 2005 installed. I then changed out the card to an
older Sony computer; installed the Belkin software then the card and it was
working 3 minutes later? Maybe it was the MCE edition of XP Pro that was
hanging it. Who knows? I am back in business with a different computer.
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and your help. It is appreciated!

Bob: What did the tech say, exactly? Did he say you needed to update.
Windows? If you can't get updates for Windows, then this newsgroup
can help you. If that's not your problem, then this isn't the right place.
Microsoft phone support, in case they don't tell you to go right back to
Belkin, could charge you more than the card cost for phone support.
To save yourself time and money you need to be very clear about
what the problem is - Belkin should have explained your problem.

Michael: Thx for your response. I have been there. Belkin tech said it is a
Microsoft issue and that I needed to contact them for help from here. Belkin
says the card is working properly. There needs to be a fix with the OS they
say? So how does one contact Microsift for phone help on a wireless card?

Click on the above link. See "Contact Us" on the webpage that opens?
Click on "By Phone" or "E-mail" to contact Belkin.
You might consider reading and understanding the instructions that
came with your Belkin products. They may ask if you have done this.

After installing the 2.4Ghz Belkin Hi=Speed Router with much difficulty, I
attempted the Belkin Wireless network Card. IT WILL NOT WORK.+The Belkin
Configuration Utility displays 4 different networks. The Belkin54g one is
from my DSL line. The 3 others are nearby neighbors.
I HIGHLITE THE bELKIN ONE AND CLICK CONFIGURE. A WINDOW POPS UP with the
properties for this network. It shows Network Authentication as "open" and
Data Encryption is "disabled"When I click OK another window pops up It
reads"The access point network"belkin54g" is already configured. Please
change either the network name or the network type before adding this entry
to the preferred
list. ANYWAY THE BEL;KIN NETWORK WILL NOT CONFIGURE FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON?
