Re: Windows Update Error Message Hell

Perhaps your computer thinks there's a proxy.

If you don't have a proxy, you will need status Direct access (no proxy server).
To set direct access: proxycfg -d

Run this command to see what proxy configuration WU uses: proxycfg
Click Start, select run and type: cmd
then type: proxycfg

| I have a second computer using the same connection, and update works just
| fine on it - so it isn't an issue with my DSL modem and/or linksys router.
