Hi Trixie,
You could try this worked for me:
1: Delete the following folder:
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player
2: Locate and delete the follwing registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer
After completing these steps, launch WMP11. You'll probably see a screen
that resembles the installation screen and the EULA. Proceed through the
setup and the library database will be recreated. Also, the "Add to Library"
screen will actually retain the folders you've specified for monitoring
(what a concept!). You'll have to go back and re-add all of the files to the
library, but it's worth it.
If not succesfull red-ownload WMP 11 the file you have might be damaged and
follow above steps again.
Let us know if this solved your problem please?
Best regards,
Michel Denie

When I went to install this gives me an error code 80070057. I restarted
my
computer (laptop) and tried again and it still won't install. When I try
and
watch a video clip from like CNN.com it says I am missing a plug-in. When
I
bring up the Media Player it says Flash not installed. Can you tell me
what
to do? Also, I tried checking for windows updates but it won't let me in.
I
am the only one on here and it won't let me in as the adminstrator or
other
user. Not sure if I ever put in a password or not. Can you tell me how I
can
do that now?
