Re: I need help with an Endless Loop in Windows Update

Microsoft Virtual Machine is installed when IE is installed.
Somehow the information that is checked to see if VM is installed either is
wrong or missing.

Try searching Miscrosoft web-site for Microsoft Virtual Machine download.

Every day I am asked to install Windows Update. I do.

I am told that I need "816093 Security Update for Microsoft Virtual
Machine
(Microsoft VM). I do NOT have Microsoft Virtual Machine installed on my
computer.

I install the update.

I get an error message, which says, "This setup will only upgrade over an
existing version of Microsoft VM."

Then Windows Update says I have succeeded in installing the update and
asks
me to restart my machine. I do that.

As soon as I restart my machine, I am asked once again from the beginning
to
install the missing update.

If I do NOT restart my machine, I get an annoying dialog box every ten
minutes telling me to restart my machine.

What do I do to correct this endless loop?

Is there anything I can do to prevent Windows Update from thinking I need
an
update which I don't need without disabling Windows Update altogether?

Please help me.

Steve
