Ever since I was forced to install the new explorer so I could avoid the pop-up balloon always appearing, I have had issues.
Sorry. As shabby as this download has been with a paucity of info as to how to install it, you are NEVER forced to install IE7.
Take some responsibility or stop whining, dude.
NO ONE forced you to install it.
Or, can't you say " No " ?

Just uninstall it from Add or Remove Programs
Someone should post how to fix the issues that the very crappy IE-7 causes and which REMAIN after the uninstall. Ever since I was forced to install the new explorer so I could avoid the pop-up balloon always appearing, I have had issues. Most programs on my system simply quit working, and my google homepage was badly affected. I can no longer use gmail at all on that computer, and windows media player errors out whenever I try to play any media off the internet. Internet Explorer 7 is a complete joke, and microsoft has made a serious error in judgement with respect to the vast majority of the public. The "new and improved" layout and features only apply to power users, and not the majority of casual users. This is all topped by the fact you are forced to download the program, or made to fear the worst if you don't use automatic updates. Microsoft does not even give the user the opportunity to weigh the options and make a choice of what browser they want to use.
So, anyone know how I can get things working correctly again after I uninstalled IE 7?
