Re: Error Code 0x80240017
Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry
Hi,
Usually, this error is caused because of the corrupted SoftwareDistribution
folder. Rename it, following the steps below:
Click Start, Run, type: cmd and press Enter
--> net stop WuAuServ
--> Click Start, Run, type: %windir% and press
Enter.
--> In the opened folder, rename the folder
SoftwareDistribution to SDold.
--> Click Start, Run, type: cmd and press Enter.
--> net start WuAuServ.
--> Tried Windows Update again.
Regards,
Anton Pegan

Have been trying to download KB898461 for over 5 months. Always get this
error code. What can I do to remedy this situation?
