windows update broken again?

Today, I try to the https://update.microsoft.com
or https://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
or https://update.microsoft.com/v6
I got redirected back to
http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us
It was not that way last time around. I could stay with
https://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us and
finish the entire process
