Hi

Have run those checks and no malware spyware or anything on my system.

Has anyone any idea what to do?

Thanks

The behavior you describe is usually a sign of a hijackware infection.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware.

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting
this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

Hi

I am using winXPpro SP2 and recently I have been getting the security
centre pop up bubble saying that automatic updates are not turned on.
I check the automatic updates screen and they show as on.

I checked the services and both automatic updates and BITS are set to
disabled.

I have scanned for viruses and can find none.

I set both services to 'automatic' but on reboot they are back to
disabled.

I re-registered the AU dll and rebooted and automatic updates service
has started, but the service still shows as disabled.

Has anuone an idea how to get this back to normal?

Thanks
