Hi NewScience
If you are saying that MS is not addressing the common problem in respect of
the svchost.exe probs I would agree - I also read that article as it had
been posted as a solution, but with my very limited knowledge, I failed to
see its relevance at all.

Microsoft may have admitted to the problem, but not related to this is
MOST cases:
1. If WININET.DLL and SVCHOST.EXE are having access violations, why isn't
there a error message appearing in Event Viewer and/or dialog window?
2. If SVCHOST.EXE is failing, where is the DMP file and/or Dr. Watson?
This MAY BE happening, but not in the number of cases reported where
SVCHOST.EXE stays up and running.
There is still an overriding problem dealing with network connectivity
(dial-up mostly) and CPU Processing power.

I'm posting a little too soon here perhaps, but I've had two computers
now with the same issue. And believe me, it is not virus/spyware
related.
Microsoft has admitted a problem and released a KB article on it.
