Open Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
Is KB920872 listed ? If yes, then uninstall it.
Follow these steps as laid out by Eric Brodish, MS :
> 1. Download the update from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=8c2e44a5-6a28-4888-93a7-6a6c6a87be7f&displaylang=en&Hash=7LFJN64 and save to the C:\ drive

NOTE: There is a space between the last e and the /
If it is not listed in Add/Remove Programs, then show hidden files, folders, and system files:
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html
Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the WINDOWS directory (folder)
Open the $NtUninstallKB920872$ folder and then the spuninst folder
Run spuninst.exe to remove the incorrectly installed update
Then follow Eric's steps as laid out above.

After installing KB920872 (it states that it was installed successfully), it downloads again and keeps repeating after each install. The log indicates there was an error during the install even though it appeared to install sucessfully. Any solutions..
Thanks.
