In order to assist you best, please begin a new thread about this in an OE-specific newsgroup. (Separate paragraphs would be preferred, too, for clarity.)

I saved the file to a flash disk and it is possible to open it there as
well as in Outlook Express where it went to when I tried to transfer it
with "send to" from "file" to the new wab. The old file is saved as
Address book. I would like to append the file to the wab/addresses in
OE.
I re enstalled the XP Os on a clean re-formatted Hdd . I also saved/
backed up other files with the "backup " I found in XP system tools.
In the re-installed OE I am unable to enter any new folders in addresses
as New folders does not exist there. When I open " Files or New" in
addresses only new contact or new group exist. Also I would like to
restore from the flash disk to which I have backed up, but when I try I
get a message " The backup file is either damaged or could not be found.
You can attempt to locate the contents of the damaged backup by turning
off the option to use on-media catalog" I have entred the right address
for the file.
Also after restarting the computer to day for the first time I received a
message "error loading w031270dll" the specific module could not be found.
Because it took such a long time to update to XP I thought that I might
save the folder to CD only to realize after starting the process that
the CD had insufficient space. I halted the "save" but now I am stuck
with some files having been saved to the HDD in preparation to burning
not being able to be erased. Should I start again and reformat and
re--install the lot or is possible to remedy?
I have spent a long time re-installing and updating everything before
installing CA eTrust Suite, an antivirus, antispam, firewall and pest
control. Ihope I am not asking too much. Many thanks
