I have the same problem, d/l 46 new updates and about 10 are marked *failed*, repeated 3 times to no avail, I have d/l the new update tool, I'm on the auto updates, but still get failure notices, now what??

Regardless, if you chose not to update Windows Update client ... how do you expect anything to work as a complete package?
It's up to you ... but if you chose to be selective in the Windows Update software ... you get what you get.

I don't have the new windows update client installed nor am I going to do so.
I did run the genuine advantage standalone tool without incident (everything
is genuine). Is there some reason these updates are failing over and over
and over again? I've tried disabling norton without any impact. I'm a bit
tired of it. I'm logged in as administrator, windows xp pro.
