I am also having the same problem, only mine is a brand-new install. I
have Windows XP Home Edition version 2002 With Service Pack 1. I am
trying to get the necassary updates to install Service Pack 2 and the
subsequent updates for that, so I doubt, and in my case, know, that this
error has anything to do with recent SP2 updates, as I don't have it
installed yet. Also niether, "Scan hangs at 0%" or "Scan for updates
freezes or stops at 0%" nor anything else on the link provided has
helped. Any information on how to solve this problem would be greatly
appreciated. TIA
