You may find some help there. I recall from the first days after SP2 a lot of the biggest install problems were caused by viruses/adware/spyware. Make sure your system is super-squeaky clean.

When trying to install KB828741 and KB835732 on Windows XP it keeps reporting "failed". No other hints than that. Been searching for help but can't locate any. Anybody? Any ideas?
