Re: How To Fix Windows Update [BITS/AU] {Newly Edited}

That was called 'sarcasm.'

Note the exclamation point at the end of the
original sentence:

"...the LEAST you could do is offer me one!"

I was talking about link meaning ads on the site. no beer drinking around
here. I mentioned explicitly some link may have been hijacked. I am
probably getting old and having mild alexia in typing.. don't assume people
don't type well to be drunken.if pay attention, you see I do have some
fingers typing faster than others esp. whne the spell checker not used or
miss

No need to get mad at me. I had never implied you were responsible for the
ad/link. There are people/"business" feeding off valuable work done by
people like you.

that is an unfortunate aspect of internet nowadays. The old friendly
helpful aspect of internet is getting some what tarnished by a few,
unfortunately

What ARE you talking about??? Who mentioned McAfee
anywhere below (or in the entire post to which I've referred)?
I should know -- I wrote the damn thing from scratch...

I mean, if you're going to have waaaay too many beers before
you post something, the LEAST you could do is offer me one!

This is for anyone who's having trouble with WU (BITS/AU):
http://castlecops.com/t106642-How_To_Fix_Windows_Update_BITS_Newly_Edited.html
[I wrote it -- I would have posted the entire set of
instructions here, but I wasn't sure if I could upload
the Zip file with the Registry fixes on this N.G., so
anyone could subsequently download it. However,
the necessary File ready for downloading, along with the
lengthy instructions are all located at the above link.]

If the above link doesn't work, go to:
http://castlecops.com/
Click "Forums" right below the Castlecops logo,
then go to the "General Computer Problems" Forum
(2nd one down), click on it and look for the Topic called:
"How To Fix Windows Update (BITS/AU)".

[As of THIS writing (7/22/06 8:30 PM EST),
it was on the 1st page (on top) and the 'Last Post'
was made on Fri. July 21, 2006 at 7:52 AM]

If you're not a member and want to register for a
free account, go to:
http://castlecops.com/
[Look on the bottom of the Login box on the right side
and click where it says:
"Click here to create a registered account" (and follow the
instructions from there).]

Hope it helps somebody here (it sure seemed like it did at CC)...
[Over a year later and it's received almost 67,000 hits, over 6,000
downloads and hundreds of responses, suggestions, additions,
questions and "thank you's," so I guess it's helped a few people
at least...]
