Other places to look for clues as to the failure reason are:
C:\WINDOWS\KB916281.log
C:\WINDOWS\KB917344.log
I got the"Unexpected Error While Executing Line 1 (
Test.IE7InstallBlock.Section ) of PreRequisite" error as well. While
googling for "Test.IE7InstallBlock", I found that a reason for this
error might be that my Prog Install Dir is not C:\Program Files but
G:\Program Files.
Yes, having program files on a different partition to Windows is known to
cause problems, particularly with programs which are close to being an
integral part of Windows, such as Internet Explorer.
I'm unwilling to change that. Is there any possibility to check
whether this might be the cause and if so, to fix the updates?
I guess you need to raise a support incident with Microsoft to answer that
one.
