Loss of network Printer
Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry
After the June updates my shared printer is suddenly not working on two of 5
machines.
When you browse for the printer it is prompting for user name and password
to access.
This is only happening on two of the machines.
The guest account is turned on (which i know is a security hazard) on the
machine that has the printer (HP-4050) installed locally and shared. The
security Policy is and was set to allow access to the printer from the
network and no GPO has been set. The only common denominator is the updates
and they have been applied on all 5 machines yet seems to only have affected
two of them. Unfortunately the one also has issues browsing to certain sites
since SP2 (and will bewiped and a fresh install in the near future). I am
looking to find out if the issue is indeed caused by an update and find out
what exactly has caused the issue so i can avoid it in the future.
