Re: Windows XP SP2 Freezes on reboot

1. Uninstall SP2 via Add/Remove Programs and reboot.

2. Run a thorough check for hijackware, including posting your HijackThis log to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis (http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use. It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware.

**Post your HijackThis log to http://forums.spywareinfo.com/, http://castlecops.com/forum67.html, http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30 or other appropriate forum for expert analysis, not here.**

3. Do not install SP2 until an expert gives your HijackThis log a clean bill of health.

I have downloaded Windows XP SP2 and installed it serveral times and it is
the same old story. My computer freezes each time on reboot. My computer
will not get pass the splash screen. When I uninstall SP2 from my system
it will reboot find like nothing has happened. I understand that there
will be no support for SP1 after October 2006. I would like some help on
this problem.

Thanks
