Re: Update fails

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Thanks for the info viz a viz, Spysweeper. Perhaps it's causing issues for other's, too. Let's hope they catch this thread.

I'll never forget the FDNY's bravery that dreadful day. And, I'll never forgive the vermin that perpetuated that dastardly act.
Their sacrifice inspires me at the same time that it saddens me ...
and no matter which way the political winds blow, I will never let them be forgotten.

Success! It worked like a charm. I had considered this but thought it too simple. Too smart for my own good.
The problem might be Spysweeper which was running although there were no messages from it. I had turned off Norton AV. ZoneAlarm Security Suite 6.5 was also running but I have turned off everything (I think) except the firewall.

Many thanks. As a native New Yorker I resonate with your support of the NYFD. I have passed several firehouses with memorials to 9/11 and it always saddens me.

Ed,

Since you've saved the update, suggest booting to Safe Mode to see if it will install successfully from there :

Like some others I cannot get this to install on W2K SP4.
I have downloaded the file but the install crashes and warns that windows has been partially updated and may not work. There does not seem to be a problem on reboot. Several tries gave the same result. I could get the other June updates to install by downloading and running the saved files.
