Check to see if Update 905474 downloaded :-
In the Run box, type: %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\download
Click OK.
You will see some folders with long names.
Locate the folder which contains the wgatray.exe
Once you locate that folder and file, you'll notice an update folder in the
folder you have located the wgatray.exe.
Open the Update folder - and you'll find a file called update.exe.
If you double click on that file, the update may install.
Please note that this update once installed cannot be removed.

| 1. Did what you originally suggested in regedit. Still failed update for
| Windows Genuine Advantage Notification (KB905474)
| 2. Downloaded and ran the WGADiag2.exe tool from
| http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. Then tried Windows Update
| again. Still failed update for Windows Genuine Advantage Notification

|
| Do you have any further recommendations? Thanks again.
