Can I add myself to the list. I had the same problem. I too solved it by
using System Restore. Then I tried Windows Update Install a second time.
Again, the same problem - and the same solution. So, it would appear there
is a problem in the latest Update. Is there any way I can be informed that
the problem has been fixed by Microsoft, and that it is therefore safe to
install Updates again, as before?

Remove the Windows update 911567 via Add/Remove Programs..
Then check that your Automatic Updates setting to make sure that the same update
doesn't automatically download and install. Please read this before proceeding:

| Apparently, the update to Outlook really does affect Outlook Express. I have
| the same problems as "not so big dave".
|
| Address Book gets lost and I was unable to send email (although I could
| receive it).
| I could type addresses in the Web browser but the MSN search in the Web
| browser was disablled.
|
| Uninstalled these updates and everything worked fine as it did before the
| updates.
