If you're using a Nvidia video card, you may want to update the driver
for that card: http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

Again what about the people who have an OEM card from
dell? I went on the dell web site and the update I performed
did not solve the problem

Call the Dell support? <duck>

I have had a Dell Nvidia OEM video card back in another machine.
I just didn't care and installed the Nvidia drivers (similar
chipset family). Guess what? They simply worked.

In case there aren't any updates or you won't update anyway, have
a look into msconfig (not available in Windows 2000) and check
the "Systemstart" tab, if you find anything related to the Nvidia
driver. Disabling that task from startup may help.

I installed the drivers. The upgrade still prevented me from accessing
the windows address book.

I also disabled the Nview Desk Top Manager with no luck.

This is nice of your Ottmar and the rest of you on this newsgroup
who have been helpful but it's really up to microsoft to do something.

You and everybody else should not be spending valuble time tweaking
the computer. After all this is not Linux and Mr. Gates refuses to
make his code open source so why should the rest of us act as beta
tester pawns to make millions of dollars for him.
