Thanks, but the article quoted didn't help much. I have 3 computers on my
network configured identically, but Update works fine on 2 of them and not on
one. In my updates history, my last successful update was 9 November, 05. I
did not realize until recently that I was not getting auto updates. I guess I
need to get a SP2 CD and reinstall it manually. Any other help would be
appreciated.

I've tried all the suggestions here and from other tech sites and can't get
any Windows Updates. the update process terminates with the subject error
code.
