HELP
Hi,

As you got into some trouble, I would have started out with just
resetting the registry permissions first (the most common reason for
the 0x80070005 error).

Just add " /areas REGKEYS" (without the quotes) to the previous secedit
command line, like this (note that command line will wrap over two
lines in this post, you need to unwrap it):

secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb
/verbose /areas REGKEYS

After running the command above, see if the update installs without the
0x80070005 error, and that you don't have the domain controller problem.

If the result is that you still get the 0x80070005 error, run the
secedit command line one more time, replacing the text REGKEYS with
SERVICES

Am I correct in assuming this is only for PRO users? Don't have secedit in Home
version. Any fixes for Home users?
