Re: Windows Update not Updating

I went through each of the steps in the MSKB and still having the problem.
1) There is network connectivity and I can go to all the web sites. even to
the windows update page and click on the links on the left and get results
except for when i try to do the updates
2) The XP firewall has been disable. I have other XP WS that the firewall
has been disable and they get the updates no problem.
3) There are no software accelerator programs running any of the WS.
4) I added teh Windows Update web site and MS update Web site to the Truste
sites list and still have the problem
5) The host file did not have the Windows UPdate and Microsoft Update entries
6) Ran the proxycfg -d, stopped and started wuauserv, and still having the
problem.

We are not behind a proxy so i did not do Method 2 of the KB.

Again I do not have a proxy server so I am not sure why the "failed with
0x80072efd" is coming into play.

7) I have downloaded updates to my Flash drive and have been able to install
updates that way but I do not want to do that on all the machine every time
an update comes out. I just pick some updates from MS update web site.
I have come to a big time loss on this issue. Does anyone have any other
suggestions as to why Windows Updates will not update.
