Windows Update download does not start in Windows 98 http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=836929
Also do you have the latest Script for your system http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=0a8a18f6-249c-4a72-bfcf-fc6af26dc390&displaylang=en Windows Script 5.6 for Windows 98, Windows Millennium Edition, and Windows NT 4.0

I have a gateway desktop running windows 98. I am unable to download
updates. I gd do to windows update, search for updates, select download and
install updates t nothing happens all I get is the windows update - web page
dialog that says preparing to download but nothing happens. I now have 12
critical updates waiting. I also have a problem with opening additional
windows such as on the update page. If I click on help and support, my
computer opens another window but there is nothing in it. I need help!
