I think that the previous error code from your log may be more significant.

That particular code is not listed in the common reference
but if we look at just the lower half it could be consistent with your case:

So, is the Automatic Updates service (aka wuauserv) running?
Hint: switch to a cmd window and enter:
sc queryex wuauserv
